I posted this on my facebook and thought to share it with you. It's a brief but does share all the info pretty much birth story!
A brother for Ariel! The age difference between them is 33 1/2 months! (almost 3 years) She is just delighted with her baby brother and says his name so sweetly! For those of you who are interested in labour details please read on. I am always interested and often you don't get to hear these things! If not don't! :> With Carter things were a lot better! I started to lose my mucus plug on the sunday, by sunday midnight I had cramping as it was a bloody show. All day monday I had cramping. My Dula Jenn delighted me by telling me I was in prelabour! I never had that with Ariel! Monday evening around 6:30 I had some randomn not really hurting contractions. I was able to sleep monday night but awoke at 7:30 am to more painful contractions. My Dula Jenn joined me just before 9 am. My contractions were around 6 or 7 minutes apart and almost a minute in length at this point. It was quite a bit in the back so I went to get adjusted at the chiropractor (the best one in the world Joel Bohemier!) at 10:30 am. Went back home. The contractions were getting quite painful so sometime before 1 pm I decided that I wanted to go to the hospital. I was dreading the car ride and wanted to get it over with! And thinking it would be nice to try the hot tub! My Dula Jen encouraged me in the car and the walk to the 3rd floor at St B by telling me "I can do all things through Christ who strenghtens me!" And I can! Got to the hospital sometime after 1 pm was checked and told I was fully dilated with a 2 something lip (cervix in the way, a few more contractions and would be ready!) Rushed into a good room (the kind you labour in and stay in, never had that with Ariel had to share, total answer to prayer as it was the last room!) Kinda in shock! The doctor was right there, the nurses everyone telling me it was going to be quick! (Oh and the nurses and doctor told me they liked my homemade done by Chad and me pedicure! ) Chad got there (he parked the car) just before the pushing started and was told Baby was coming and his response was "Are you serious?" Pushed for 15 minutes and he was born! How crazy! Quite overwhellming as I did not expect that! We knew it was a boy but you still wonder and were delighted when it was! The doctor showed us a knot in the umbelical cord and later we were told by the nurse that he is our miracle baby. That sometimes babies don't make it with that. But thank you Jesus he did! Carter is a wonderful baby so far and will continue to be! Nursing amazingly! Still surprised that he is smaller than Ariel (She was 8 pounds 14 ounces!) I look forward to enjoying a baby again! :> |
